New R versions

R version 3.2.5 was released some days ago, and is a bug fix for version 3.2.4.

R version 3.3.0 will be released in a few days time.

The packages I have in CRAN are all tested and automatically built for both versions. The packages under development that are only available through the repositories at this site have been informally tested to work under R 3.3.0 beta release. I have built some binaries and added them to the repositories. I will write a new post as soon as all binaries are available for the new R version. Installation from sources should in all cases work.

photobiologyInOut 0.4.3 (release)

The main changes from version 0.4.1, the previous release are:

Update for compatibility with ‘lubridate’ (>= 1.5.6)
Add function read_oo_jazdata() to read Jaz files containing raw counts.
Add preliminary versions of functions to exchange data with package ‘hyperSpec’:
mspct2hyperSpec() and hyperSpec2mspct().
Add preliminary version of function to import data from package ‘pavo’:
rspec2mspct().

Fix bug in read_fmi_cum(). Update dependencies.

Update to fix problems triggered by changes in version 1.5.6 of package ‘lubridate’.
Apparent problems in packages ‘ggspectra’ and ‘photobiologyWavebands’ are also solved by this update.

This book looks very useful for PhD students and also to some extent for more experienced researchers willing to get up-to-speed with the use of modern communication tools and on-line media and forums.

It covers a lot of subjects concisely and is very up-to-date. It is an easy read but full of useful information and ideas.

The e-book has a suggested price, but you can chose to get it for free or pay less if you are on a tight budget. Payment is fully voluntary, so you can also pay more than the suggested price if you want to support the author.
