A new version of ggplot2 (2.2.0) has been submitted to CRAN by Hadley Wickham. It is a major update with many improvements, and a few changes that require special care from users. From the point of view of the installation itself the problem is that packages extending ‘ggplot2’ need to be rebuilt or installed from sources to avoid errors during figure plotting or printing. The .zip install files for MS-Windows for packages extending ‘ggplot2’ like my own ‘ggpmisc’ and ‘ggspectra’, will be soon rebuilt in CRAN.
Another change is that stacked bars and areas are in ggplot2 2.2.0 plotted in the reverse stacking order than in earlier versions. In the case of ‘ggspectra’ it means that the order of reflected, absorbed and transmitted regions of the stacked areas would be reversed with the transmitted fraction moving to the top of the graph, which is counter-intuitive. Version 0.1.12 of ‘ggspectra’ , now in CRAN, takes care of this change so that the output from
plot.object_spct() remains almost unchanged under any recent version of ‘gglplot2’.
