R 3.3.0 was released on Tuesday.
The repositories at this site and obviously also at CRAN now contain package binary distributions for this R release.
One major change in this release is that the Windows binary of R is now built with a much newer version of the gcc
compiler. In my tests irradiance calculations with the ‘photobiology’ package can be under Windows 10 up to 30% faster in R 3.3.0 than in R 3.2.4.
